women's match Report: ROUND 5
CAULFIELD GRAMMARIANS VS monash blues
Caulfield Grammarians 1-2-8 defeated by Monash Blues 3-10-28
Match Report:
By Sam Tonkin
It was a low scoring affair for the CGFC Women’s Ressies this week, after being defeated by Monash Blues by 20 points.
A very slow start to the game meant the half time score was 0.1.1 CGFCW to 1.2.8 Monash. The Fields solo goal came from Elise Di Sipio after copping a dangerous high tackle in the third.
Although it was a rather uneventful game, there were a few highlights to take away from the loss.
‘Sooks’ Welsh was stellar, with some strong marking and non-stop running through the mid. The ever-consistent ‘Rowdy’ Hants was, unsurprisingly, consistent in a game where not much went the Fields way.
‘Doc’ Howells swept across the backline and most certainly prevented the score from blowing out any further, and Mon Beckwith lead the defense through the midfield with plenty of hard tackles and solid bumps.
There will be plenty to review during the week leading up to next versus St Bedes, who have just been elevated to Premier B after RMIT and La Trobe were dropped from the division.
Round 6 is Thick and Thin Round, which promotes mental health and wellbeing.
Get down to Mentone Reserve to support the Ressies at 12pm, and the Seniors at the prime time of 2pm.
