Bowesy steps down as CGFC President
The Caulfield Grammarians Football Club can confirm that after 3 years CGFC President Will Bowes will be stepping down at this week’s Annual General Meeting.
A former player and coach, Will took on the role through and showed great leadership through the turmoil of the COVID pandemic.
The major highlight of his presidency was the club’s Centenary Celebration that saw multiple generations of Grammarians come together on one of the greatest nights of our club history.
Bowesy will continue to stay involved with the committee in an events role that will see him run our clubs luncheons at Glen Huntly.
Will has commented on his time as President that “It has been an honour to lead the club for the past 3 years with all our teams in their respective Premier grades. I am particularly proud of the way we have reengaged with past generations and how that has made our club feel whole again.”
“While relegation is never a good thing, for our men’s senior program it allows us a chance to continue our rebuild in a competition in which will be super competitive. Our women’s program is focussed on recruiting the next generation of stars from our school program to help return us to finals again in 2024. Our U/19’s were superb this season and we are certainly expecting to be in the mix come the end of the year again next season.”
All of the CGFC community thank Will for his amazing contribution to the club as President through some challenging times and help set it up for a bright future.
A new President for the club will be elected at Wednesdays’ Annual General Meeting.
